CenTiRe Spring Conference 2023: Highlights

The CenTiRe (Center for Tire Research) Spring IAB Conference is a highly anticipated event in the tire industry, where researchers, engineers, and industry experts come together to review the latest findings and advancements in tire-related research. The conference, held April 11 & 12, 2023, was a resounding success, featuring researcher-led presentations, engaging discussions, and exhibits.

One of the main focuses of the CenTiRe Spring Conference was on ongoing sponsored tire-related research. Graduate student researchers presented their latest advancements to the industry members on tire materials, physics, testing and sustainability. The IAB team was also presented with 12 finalist proposals to consider for funding this year. The keynote speech was titled ‘Tires in a Circular Economy’ and was presented by Dr. Robert Allen of the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory.

The CenTiRe Spring Conference 2023 emphasized the importance of collaboration among academic and industry members in driving advancements in tire technology and sustainability.  Follow-up articles will highlight the research proposals that were approved for funding, as well as the student researchers who won awards for their presentation skills.
