CenTiRe Announces the Completion of Tire Physics Research Project

CenTiRe is proud to announce the completion of research project Assessment of tire attributes and mapping resulting correlations on the dynamic aero drag and lift coefficient on vehicles using CFD and design of experiments. This tire physics focused project was directed by Virginia Tech faculty principle investigator Dr. Alex Untaroiu and the research was conducted by VT graduate students Shubham Rath and Gen Fu. The project resulted in six manuscripts published in technical journals, as well as computer models developed for industry member use. The project deliverables represent an advancement of technical knowledge in the field of tire aerodynamics, thanks to the efforts of the research team and guidance from the industry mentors. They are now available to CenTiRe industry members, via the centrie.org website, and can be made available to new industry members, provided they join in 2022. This is the third of six projects concluding in 2022, with ten more projects currently active and supported by CenTiRe.
