CenTiRe Announces the Completion of Tire Testing Research Project

CenTiRe is proud to announce the completion of research project 3D Printed Smart Tires for Health Monitoring. This tire testing focused project was directed by University of Akron faculty principle investigator Dr. Jae-Won Choi and the research was conducted by UA graduate students Mazen Kiki, Sarath Suresh Kamath and Bipendra Basnet. The project resulted in several manuscripts published in technical journals, as well as a recent student poster session presentation at the 2022 Tire Society conference. The project deliverables represent an advancement of technical knowledge in the field of tire sensors, thanks to the efforts of the research team and guidance from the industry mentors. They are now available to CenTiRe industry members, via the centire.org website, and can be made available to new industry members, provided they join in 2022. This is the second of five projects concluding in 2022, with ten more projects currently active and supported by CenTiRe.
